At Kambu Campers Ltd, we have intentionally designed our initial tour package to feature Maasai Mara as the main destination. Our range of 2 to 5-day safari packages cater to various budgets and include tours of Maasai Mara National Reserve and its conservancies, all starting from Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya. While we are still building our soon-to-be-launched Kambu Tented Camp near Sekenani Gate, our presence in the Mara during the development phase of our camp has given us immense insight as we set out to develop these packages. We have also gone on at least 6 safaris in the larger Mara over the last two years.
How our packages work:
We do not have specific pricing for any of our packages. For example, our 2-day/1-night Maasai Mara package is completely open for you to design. You can opt to fly in instead of using road transport or you can use to stay in a tent inside the Park instead of a high-end luxury hotel. We therefore, request that you provide specific details especially regarding your accommodation preference when making a booking request.
Which Package should I choose? How many days is ideal?
We would like to emphasize that the duration of your safari and the number of days you spend in it depend entirely on your budget. For instance, if you are looking for a long weekend getaway, we recommend our 3-day/2-night package. This will give you enough time to take in all the sights and sounds at Maasai Mara within a short span of time. However, if you have a larger budget and more time to spare, we recommend our 5-day/4-night package as this will give you enough time to explore different areas and conservancies in the Mara and participate in various activities like hot air balloon safari, game drives etc.
About Maasai Mara Safari & Packages:
To see the animals you’re interested in, it’s important to know where to look in the Mara ecosystem. The ecosystem covers 1,510 square km and different animals are best viewed in different areas. For instance, if you want to see the Marsh Lions featured in BBC Wildlife documentaries, you should go to the Mara Triangle, the uppermost part of the ecosystem. On the other hand, if you want to witness the spectacle of millions of wildebeest crossing the Mara River at once, head to the central part of the ecosystem.
We can tailor your package to fit your needs – just indicate in the inquiry if you have specific animals you’d like to see.
To make the most of your trip, consider the time of year you plan to visit. For instance, if you’re hoping to witness the Wildebeest migration, it’s best to plan your trip for the months of July and August. Birding safaris are excellent for later in the year (during winter periods in Europe) when birds migrate to the Mara.
Maasai Mara Safari Package
Maasai Mara National Reserve gives you a glimpse of Africa’s untamed beauty and the ‘Big Five’ or the Big cats. The best way to experience the park is on a safari—a wildlife adventure through its vast grassland, woodlands, rivers, and swamps teeming with wild animals.
The Game Reserve is known as both the birthplace of humanity and Africa’s top wildlife reserve. In 2007, it was voted as the eighth wonder of the world. There is a lot to see here. With more than 90 mammal species and over 470 bird species, you will be sure to spot some amazing wildlife.
Depending on where your accommodation/hotel/lodge is located, you’ll start your day early with the game drive before dawn with a packed breakfast if you wish. You may also opt to just head out for the game drive after breakfast at around 8 am.
If your accommodation is outside the Reserve, you will enter through any of the main Gates to the Reserve – Sekenani, Talek, or Oloololo. From 8 am, you’ll roam the park looking for animals and viewing different habitats with your guide.
You’ll stop off for a picnic lunch during the day and take advantage of some time to relax, or you can continue on with another game drive in late afternoon until 7 pm when you will start heading back to your accommodation.
It’s important to remember that game drives are not guaranteed to see any specific animals, as they are wild creatures and difficult to predict. Be sure to bring your cameras and binoculars along and marvel at the beautiful landscapes you come across!
Finally, if you’re looking for a thrilling adventure in Maasai Mara National Reserve, look no further than our 2-night 3-day safari package. With our expert guides, you’ll be sure to experience the best of what the park has to offer. Contact us now for more information and let’s make your African safari dream come true!
