Overview of this group tour package:
Though the days you choose to go on this package may be extended, our recommendation is 3 days and 2 nights and will start and end in Nairobi. Depending on the group size, we may use more than one vehicle, and the drivers who are also experienced tour guides will give you a thrilling safari experience. The vehicle you’ll use is a 4WD Land Cruiser or a 4WD Toyota Hiace safari van fitted with a small fridge, charging ports for phones and computers, and a pop-up roof for better game viewing and photography. Throughout the trip, we’ll stay at Kambu Campers, a safari camp located some 14 minutes from Masai Mara’s main gate of Sekenani. Kambu Mara Camp borders Naboisho and Nashulai Conservancies and the National Reserve is visible from the Camp.
How much is a group safari to Masai Mara?
An all-inclusive package varies significantly for non-residents and for residents. Residents can expect to pay as low as $65 per day for a group of 5 and the non-resident group package starts from as low as $150 per day. Itinerary:
Day 1:
- Arrival in Nairobi: Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to your hotel for check-in. You have the option of exploring Nairobi. You can go for coffee or craft beer tasting we recommend on this list.
Day 2:Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve:
- After breakfast at your hotel, you will be picked up by our driver-guide and depart for the Masai Mara. The journey takes approximately 4.5 hours, with stops along the way for refreshments and sightseeing. The drive will take you through the Rift Valley Escarpment where you can take photos before the onward drive. You’ll stop at Narok Coffee House for an optional coffee break before embarking on the last 1-hour drive to Masai Mara
- Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed to Kambu Mara Camp with cold refreshments and you’ll have lunch. After lunch, you can rest as you await the afternoon game drive starting at 3:30 pm.
- You will return to the camp around 6:30 p.m. where a delicious dinner awaits you. The campfire will be ready to provide warmth and comfort.You have the option to unwind in the lounge/bar area or retreat to your tent, where you can indulge in breathtaking views of the surrounding Conservancies or simply unwind and stargaze under the clear skies.
Day 3: Masai Mara National Reserve:
- An early morning game drive at 6:30 am to explore the vast savannah plains and witness wildlife in their natural habitat during sunrise. The morning game drive lasts for approximately 2 to 3 hours, after which you’ll return to the camp for breakfast.
- After breakfast, you can choose to relax at the camp or participate in optional activities such as guided nature walks, cultural visits to a Masai village, or visit the nearby botanical garden, at an additional cost. You can also opt for a whole day of game drive with packed food.
- Lunch will be served at the camp and you’ll have some time to rest before embarking on the afternoon game drive at 3:30 pm. Lunch can also be packed if you are going on a full-day game drive. If you are having lunch at the Camp, you can still go the game drive in the afternoon.
- As the sun sets over the Mara, keep your eyes peeled for more wildlife sightings during the afternoon game drive, which lasts for approximately 2 to 3 hours. Upon return, a delectable dinner will be waiting for you at the camp.
- At Kambu Camp, you’ll find a multitude of games and activities to keep you engaged. And when you need a relaxing moment, nothing beats the warmth of a campfire or the delightful taste of Kenya’s craft or regular beer served at the main lounge.
Day 4: Departure from Masai Mara:
- Wake up early and enjoy your last morning game drive in Masai Mara before returning to camp for breakfast. After breakfast, check out of the camp and bid farewell to the beautiful Masai Mara.
- Our friendly driver will then transfer you back to Nairobi, with a lunch stop along the way. You’ll reach Nairobi in the late afternoon, marking an end to your unforgettable Masai Mara safari experience.
Optional Add-on Activities:

- Hot air balloon ride: For those seeking a once-in-a-lifetime experience, we offer hot air balloon safaris over the Masai Mara at an additional fee – $450 per person. We will have to modify your schedule so you go on the ride and we request you inform us in advance.
- Bush dinner: For a unique dining experience, we can arrange for a bush dinner where you’ll enjoy a delicious meal under the stars in the middle of the wilderness.
- Nature walks: Explore the beautiful landscape of Masai Mara on foot with our experienced guides and learn about the flora and fauna of the region.
