Cost of Flying Safari to Masai Mara
Fly-in safaris are becoming increasingly popular among our clients due to the convenience and comfort it offers. It is the best choice for those who want to explore a vast area of land but don’t have enough time. By flying, you can save up to four hours drive from Nairobi or Mombasa in a single day instead of having to spend two days on a road safari.
A flight from Nairobi to Mara costs approximately $160, whereas renting a Land Cruiser will cost you approximately $200. This implies that the flight is a cheaper option for an individual, and it also saves time. However, if you are traveling in a group, dividing the rental cost would be a more cost-effective option. This is why I highly recommend flying for individuals rather than groups.
Fly-in safaris also offer more flexibility, allowing you to choose which game reserve or conservancy you would like to visit and when. This is great if you want to experience a different type of wildlife each day. Additionally, flights are generally safer than road trips as they avoid the risk of theft and wild animals that may cross your path.
Overall, fly-in safaris are a great way to maximize your time and experience the best of Masai Mara in a short amount of time. With our packages, you can enjoy comfort and convenience while exploring this vast and beautiful region.

What is the best time of year to visit Masai Mara?
The best time to visit Masai Mara is during the wildebeest migration season which takes place between July and October. This is the time when millions of wildebeest and zebras migrate from Serengeti in Tanzania to the Mara Reserve in Kenya. The best thing about this season is that it guarantees quality game-viewing experiences with the possibility of spotting predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs etc. If you are on a budget, I recommend opting for less busy period of the year – specifically early June when the rates are lower compared to the July-October months.
