How many days is Ideal for a Kenya-Tz Safari?

7 days/6 nights is the perfect duration for a combined Kenya-Tanzania safari. This allows you to explore some of the best game-viewing opportunities in both countries and experience all that they have to offer. Plus, with this length of time, you can even add on an extra day or two if you’d like to explore one of these amazing places even more.

What Activities Can You Do?

You can take a full-day game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater, experience night game drives in Serengeti, marvel at the wildebeest and zebra migration in the Maasai Mara and get to know local cultures through visits to nearby villages. If you want to add a few extra days, you can also visit Lake Manyara National Park or Arusha National Park in Tanzania and Amboseli National Reserve or Samburu National Reserve in Kenya. No matter what activities you choose, your seven-day/six-night Kenya-Tanzania safari will be an unforgettable experience.

What Wildlife Can You See?

On this safari, you can expect to see a variety of wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, hippos, zebras and elephants. In addition to the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard), you might also spot hyenas and antelopes in both Tanzania and Kenya. Plus, you’ll be able to observe hundreds of species of birds in both countries, including the famous flamingos of Lake Nakuru in Kenya. A combined safari offers an incredible wildlife experience that can’t be found anywhere else.

When is the Best Time to Go?

The best time for a combined Kenya-Tanzania safari is between June and October, when the wildebeest are migrating. During this time, you can also expect comfortable temperatures and some of the best game viewing opportunities in both countries. However, if you’re looking to avoid the crowds, then consider going during the green season (November-May) – although there will be fewer animals due to the long dry season.
